I surrender...

Music inspires me so much, and I often incorporate worship music into my quiet times. So I thought it would be enriching to reference a few songs over the next few weeks, as a way of sharing that same sense of inspiration with others.

I especially love songs that speak to God directly, addressing Him as if we’re standing face-to-face and prompting me to tell Him how I feel. How I feel about His character and about the victories He’s won in my life, as well as the ways He’s shown up in the lives of my friends and family members.

I love to address Him by name, not because He needs it, but because I do. I need to be reminded of the fact that He has drawn me near, and not the other way around. I need to be caught up in His arms and infused with His heavenly aroma. I need to be trained in His heavenly ways, so I’m ready to walk beside Him every day, moving to the rhythm of His beat.
